Valeriana officinalis | Plant belonging to the Valerianaceae family, it may measure up to 1.5 m in height. It has leaves arranged in the shape of rose, with extremely bitter taste. When barked, its roots give off a characteristic unpleasant odor, its flowers are small and numerous pink in color. Originally from Europe and West Asia, it grows in low, sandy terrain, humid places and around mountains. From ancient times it is known the sedative properties of valerian.¹. ². ³
